1970 SELMER Mark VI Alto Saxophone, silver-plated, 181xxx
1970 is the year this extraordinary Alto Saxophone was made. The silvering is still completely intact and the Saxophone has recently been overhauled (Pisoni pads with plastic resonators). You can immediately get going.
Typical for the later Altos, there’s nothing to criticize here. The instrument’s intonation is phenomenal and allows wonderful bending; a comfortable work tool that good-naturedly complies with the player’s every trick. It sounds relatively tidy and “smooth,” and with medium effort the attainable volume is already quite high. Is this what’s called “funky”?
