  • 1973 SELMER Mark VI Alto Saxophone, silver-plated, 218xxx

Here again we have a beautiful Mark VI Alto of the silvered genre…

This fine little Horn has just been treated to a SAXOPHONIC Premium Overhaul with reworked mechanics (outsize shafts). It is now in impeccable technical shape, there are no bumps or bruises, bow and bell are flawless, only the upper lever of the octave mechanics was once bent and earlier straightened and has no effect on the feel when played.

And speaking of the feel when played: the mechanics run superbly and the Horn responds accordingly in every range. The lower register pleasingly exhibits lots or warmth, the higher you ascend in the registers, the more harmonics intermix. The Horn has quite an amount of radiant power and can surely hold its own in a big band. But a big band is not the only platform this Mark VI can hold its own in: Pop, Funk or Jazz are in its portfolio as well. But at the end of the day, it’s up to the player …

Maybe you’re the one predestined to hook up with this Mark VI Alto. You are more than welcome to give it a try. Make an appointment for our practice rooms where you can play and compare this Horn with other Saxes from our Legendary Saxophones Collection. Or simply order it in our Online Shop and test it in the privacy and comfort of your home.
