  • 1974 Alto Saxophone SELMER Paris Mark VI, 225xxx

Since the early 1970s, the final design of the Mark VI alto saxophone has prevailed: the medium-short version of the “medium bow” (in case you are confused, here is a brief clarification: there were different variants of the “medium bow” design: short, medium-short, medium-long and long medium-bow variants. Further details will be published soon under “Interesting Facts”).

Production of the Mark VI saxophones was discontinued after a good 20 years, and the Mark VI was the most sought-after saxophone around the world. The Mark VII had already been designed and produced in small numbers in a pre-series when this Mark VI alto saxophone was completed in 1974. Well-balanced in terms of intonation with the typical Mark VI homogeneity in terms of sound development, the late Mark VIs enjoyed increasing popularity.

This 225-thousand Mark VI Alto is wonderful to play. The pads are not brand new, but they haven’t really been used much either, so you can enjoy this Mark VI for many years to come.

It’s a good instrument, but it’s still worth visiting us and comparing it with other SELMER Mark VI alto saxophones (or other SELMER models), because you and the saxophone should be a perfect match! And finally you will be able to enjoy your musical creativity!
