This beautiful SELMER Mark VI is a new addition to our extensive range of SELMER saxophones: a silver instrument in excellent condition. It has clearly been well cared for throughout its 64-year life, as there are no signs of damage from previous falls or similar incidents, nor any resulting repair marks. Of course, there are signs of wear such as small scratches and two tiny dents, which only confirm that this SELMER Mark VI tenor saxophone has been well used over the decades.

Visually, this silver instrument is a radiant sight, as its silver plating is still almost completely intact. The silver plating is slightly worn in two small areas (inside the body and on the key guard of the low Eb key). I would say that 98-99% of the silver plating is still intact.

But now to the essentials: its sound is truly magnificent, big but not boisterous… It fills the room, so it has a lot of projection. However, its powerful tone is by no means intrusive, but rather present, and because this 1962 Mark VI, like all SELMER Mark VI’s, gives the player great dynamics, gentle, quiet playing is just as easy as powerful projection when soloing in a big band. Whatever you want, this Mark VI silver instrument can do it!

We had this SELMER Mark VI completely overhauled and checked in our SAXOPHONIC workshop. Pisoni PRO pads with metal resonators were installed.
