    «…a swinging’ affair…»

Who doesn’t know them, the legendary «Blue Note» albums from Dexter Gordon?

A Swingin’ Affair, Doin’ Allright, Our man in Paris, Go…

Dexter Gordon sounds absolutely unique on these albums and for this reason is considered by many musicians to represent the ideal sound. This early Mark VI was made in 1957, and with its innate full, round sound, is the embodiment of this Dexter-Gordon trait. Especially the lower register sounds wonderfully voluminous, and the typical Mark VI balance is maintained throughout and into the upper registers.

This superb Mark VI Tenor Saxophone was purchased new in 1958 by its first owner and played by him professionally for decades. Having acquired this Saxophone 1st-hand we are happy to be able to pass it to the next owner. Might this Saxophone be waiting for you? Try it out and compare it with other Mark VIs from our Legendary Saxophones Collection. We’re looking forward to your visit!
